Charism of the Sisters of NDNU

The Sisters of Notre Dame have gone out of their ways to pursue their individual callings by helping those less fortunate in the outside world. Apart from risking their reputation in the Church, they are willing to take their chances even if the odds are completely against them. Dorothy Stang set the bar of taking risks when she was helping Amazon farmers from encroaching government agents. In the case of a Political Science graduate, the Sister's selfless devotions to helping others may influence that student to find a career suitable for him/herself to help and serve people within a community or the country itself. A couple obvious positions could be running for office on a city council, state government, or acting as someone's attorney in court. Their mission in life would be similar to the Sisters' - willing to help those in distress or find a way to reform the system so no one is less fortunate than most.
